Festa del Fungo at VS a great success
Festa del Fungo of the association “Parmigiani Valtaro”, was a big success.
A rich menu (Prosciutto e Melone,Tagliatelle al Sugo di Funghi Porcini Arrosto di
Vitello Con Patate e Legumi and, to conclude the meal,Torta della Nonna)
together with an impressive organization have been the most appreciated
characteristics of this first edition of festa del fungo at villa Scalabrini.
the raffle had an interesting list of prizes:

As Sergio Corsini, president of associazione Parmigiani Valtaro underlined in his opening speech, “one of the main reasons why Associazione Parmigiani Valtaro has been created is to be together while eating Italian food and wine. After 37 years we are still here celebrating together and this is a good result”.
Part of the money raised has been donated to Villa Scalabrini to create a new structure.
But let the attendees speak for themselves, just by reporting their impressions on the event”.
“With my husband Remo and a group of friends we went to
the Festa del
Fungo. We have been to the Festa before at different venue which was
also very nice.
La Festa del Fungo for me this time was much more, it was held in the new hall of Villa Scalabrini which is quite lovely, the committee have
surpassed themselves in taking care of every detail.
The music was complimentary to the occasion, the food and service was
10/10, my table had a great time, I saw many friends that I had not seen
for a while, dancing and having a good Italian catch up time really,
I am also a fund raiser, having done many events for the Xaveriani
Missionaries in Africa, NSPCC and for Villa Scalabrini, for the past 40
years, so I know how hard it is to get it right.
The new president Mr Sergio Corsini gave a very good speech, outlining
everything that had to be said in a very short time.
I would like to wish the new president and the committee every success
and thank them for a very enjoyable evening.
Looking forward to the next one
Saluti cari” - Elsa Vignali
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing friends which I had not seen for a very long time.
The food and service was impeccable, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the new redecorated room at the Villa Scalabrini was done up to its best by the committee.
Having been a member of Childline, Villa Scalabrini, fund raising for my local church in Volpi and Cancer research, I know how difficult it is to make a function come together.
May there be many more like this. Congratulation to Sergio and his committee.
Auguri” - Enrica Sozzi
“Just wanted to thank you so much for a truly wonderful
The whole organisation was very impressive as was the food!!!
Well done to all involved and all for a good cause too.
Please be so kind as to let me know of any other functions you may know
about as I find it difficult to track them down - we used to go to
Bishop Douglas near Finchley but it has gone quiet lately!!
Anyway once again, grazie mille” - Sue Brandoni.
“Just to say thanks for organising the event yesterday. Everyone on my
table enjoyed themselves and thought it was well planned.
Best wishes” - Gabriella
