BAKED STUFFED APPLES

 

Ingredients

8 apples

2oz macaroons (amaretti), crushed

6 oz ricotta cheese

3 oz sugar

2 oz blanched almonds

2 oz chocolate grated

1 egg

4 tablespoons Marsala or Amaretto di Saronno

20 tablespoons of white wine

 

 

Method

Remove the core and some of the pulp

from the apples. Put 8 whole almonds to

one side. Mash the ricotta. Add the egg,

almonds which have been. finely chopped,

crushed amaretti, sugar and grated chocolate.

Add the Marsala (or Amaretto di

Saronno) and mix all ingredients together.

Fill each apple with the mixture and decorate

each one with a whole almond.

Pour the wine into an ovenproof dish.

Place the apples into it side by side. Bake

in oven 190°C/no. 5 for about 1 hour until

the apples are cooked. Serve warm.
